Group Details

The Group details panel displays information and options for the group that you select from the tree.

You can access various group functions from the header bar at the top of the panel.

The following are some of the actions that you can perform on a device using the MDM:

- Check In: This action sends a ping to the device to confirm that it can communicate with the MDM server. You can use this to verify that the device is online and reachable.

- Sync: This action sends the commands to make the device compliant with the MDM policies, such as installing or removing apps and profiles. You can use this to enforce the settings and restrictions that you have configured for the device.

- Wallpaper: This action sends an image to be used as the lock screen and home screen on the device. You can use this to customize the appearance of the device or to display a logo or message.

- Accessibility: This action provides the ability to configure the accessibility options on a device, such as voiceover, zoom, invert colors, etc. You can use this to make the device more accessible for users with disabilities or special needs.

- Erase: This procedure initiates the erase and reset operation on the device. This will delete all the information and files on the device and return it to its original settings. You can use this to safely remove a device that is missing, taken, or obsolete. It will release the licenses used on the managed apps previously installed on the device.

- Delete: This action deletes the device from the MDM server. This will remove the device from your inventory and stop sending commands or policies to it. You can use this to clean up your device list or to remove a device that is no longer managed by you.

- Unenroll: This action sends the commands to unenroll the device from the MDM server, forcing it to remove the managed apps and profiles. This will free up the device from the MDM control and allow the user to manage it themselves. You can use this to transfer a device ownership or to opt out a device from the MDM program.

- Move Device: This action allows you to move the device to a different group within the MDM server. This will change the policies and settings that apply to the device based on the group membership. You can use this to organize your devices into different categories or to assign different levels of management to them.

- OS Update: This action allows you to perform the OS update on the device either at a scheduled time or on demand. This will update the device software to the latest version available from Apple. You can use this to keep your devices up-to-date and secure with the latest features and fixes.
