Editing CSV Asset File for Asset Importing
When editing or adding Assets using a CSV file it it recommend that you export an Asset as the exported file contains the column headings that will be automatically mapped to Site Manger fields during importing.
Once you have exported the assets, open up the CSV file in Excel to edit or add the additional asset information
It is recommended to check for duplicates in the Asset Name field and any other primary sorting field that you wish to use such as Serial Number.
To do this in Excel highlight the Asset Name Column, select the option Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cell Rules, Duplicate Values
If Duplicates are identified they will be highlights, fix the duplicates before saving the file.
**Please Note** Check for duplicates in the Asset name column as you can not import the file if there are duplicate Asset Names.
Remember to save the changes in the CSV file format.
**Please Note** You must not include blank lines within your CSV file.
